Thirty-seven (37) lawmakers of the All Progressives Congress defected to the oppositions, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, announced the defections during plenary on Tuesday.
The APC lawmakers cited “factionalisation and division” in the ruling party as their reason for leaving.
Thirty-three lawmakers defected to PDP while four others defected to ADC.
The defecting lawmakers are Danburam Nuhu, Mark Gbilah, Razak Atunwa, Ahmed Garba Bichi, Abdulsamad Dasuk, Zakari Mohammed, Sani Rano, Barry Mpigi, Ali madaki, Dickson Tackighir, Hassan Saleh.
No fewer than fifteen (15) senators of the All Progressives Congress defected to the Peoples Democratic Party.
